Getting programmes off my Sky+ box

I'm thinking of terminating my sky+ subscription.
I like to leave for a year so hopefully when I come back I get new kit and a few new programmes!

There are a couple of progs on my box that I'd like to keep.
I have an xbox 360 is there a way?? and a laptop with a dvd writer
Thansk

i looked at this, the data in encrypted, so the only way i found is to use a dvd recorder and record the play back

does a 360 have signal input to allow you to record tv? if so plug sky box into it from scart lead and record playback

nope, as said before, dvd recorder is the only way.
i fyou were planning to rejoin, what new programs were you expecting to get?
if its not an HD box you have, and just a normal sky plus, you could have a free HD box if you pay £10 a month for the HD channels (if thats the new programs you meant)
if you still want to cancel and join later, you'll have to join in someone elses name, wife perhaps?

always repeats repeats so I cancel for a year,
Then rejoin and hopefully a few new programmes have been made. I can't watch mike brewer anymore.

So its a definate no then to anything other than a dvd recorder?

its seems the xbox 360 idea is a no go.
tv card for my laptop or borrow a dvd recorder are my options i think.
