Difference between top 40 artists and legends
Difference between top 40 artists and legends;
A legend's song never grows old.
A top 40 artist's song is outdated after 10 weeks.
Everyone know the lyrics of a legendary song
At a top 40 artist song you wonder why they want everyone to know they got billions of dollars, dozen ho's and 23 bentley's.
A legendary artist will never die.
In 5 years everyone will think; Justin Bieber? Wait wasn't that a 15 year old girl?
Just contemplating on what you think?

This isn't exactly what you're talking about, but listen to these guys. I think it does illustrate the difference.
The Flecktones
I was listening to this last night and pondering on how different it is to the sausage machine music as spewed out by the Simon Cowell axis of
evil.
This is the twelve days of christmas.
Each line in a different key, each line in a different time signature.
This, to me, is legendary.
And at no point do they, "and this week is soul week / beatles week / rock week."
Each one a legend in their own right.

As usual its down to individual taste. There may well be some that people class as legendry musicians, and some one else will think its a pile of pap.
There is no right or wrong, just down to that persons taste.
I like Iron Maiden, the wife cant understand why I listen to it. I also like Madness, again the wife not really getting it. She like Madonna, I cant
stand the sight or sound of Madonna. Doesn't mean either of us are right or wrong. although she IS wrong.....

Think the main difference really is that the good bands you hear about a few years later... Or at least remember.
For example last I saw of Hanson they'd grown up and their voices had dropped... and apparently they were still touring (not that I'd
heard anything..)
