We have a few paper lanterns flying around at the moment

any one know how to make them ??

We set 5 of these off a few years ago on New Year's Eve.
There was a report about 5 UFOs sighted in the local paper in the next week.
I think people are a bit less naive these days.

We sent a few bags skyward (the big wheelie bin ones ) when we had some helium lying spare

These things want banning, we see them stuck in hedges and the wire hoops left rusting in fields after the paper rots. If you threw them down in the street you would be done for littering. Plastic ones would be the worst thing ever. I'm not a raving environ mentalist or kill joy but We were in a tent last year and these things were going over our heads and a gust of wind could have done real damage.

I'm afraid I agree 100% with Peteff, they are a complete nuisance on loads of levels and want banning pronto!

You can buy them at Birthdays card shop, not sure of the price and i noticed them for sale at some small BP filling stations.
