LCD Telly's

Bit of a long shot this one but does anyone know anything about LCD telly's? I've had mine pushing on 5 years now and it's recently started playing up. The issue is that after having it on for 2-3 hours the picture quality suddenly deteriorates and its looks like the picture breaks into loads of very thin horizontal lines across the screen.
I've tried Googling it but can't seem to word it right to get any results.

could it be over heating from build up of dust inside? I use to hoover out the old tellys or they started whinning and getting heaps of static. Had one that could pull a piece of tissue from about a meter away onto the screen, was scared to go near it

Lot of problems with games consols etc seem to be down to dust inside, I'd take the back off and give it a clean

Capacitors

Did you see my post on repairing 2 lcd displays in the last week , by replacing a hand full of capacitors in each .

Apparently many lcd fault are down to dodgy electrolytic capacitors.

You can even get a repair pack for some models . if not you will find what you need on Ebay.

Its not dust as I've cleaned it.
Searching common faults is a good idea, ta.
I did see the fault with your capacitors but confess I didn't read it fully. I'll give it a read now thanks.
