Drainage probem
I have blocked drain on my driveway, but the trap bend is so acute i can not get a drain rod to follow the bend, so could i approach the problem from
another source, ie main drain hole ?
Problem is there are at least 5 nearby, so which one do i go for??
Or is there a website that shows all the drainage waterworks etc, as it does not on my house deeds
any idea's ??

Fairly possible it goes to a soakaway that would be tricky.
To see if any of the manholes are connected, try coloured water. Of course, this relies on it getting past the blockage
Or how about seeing if any of your other drains etc are connected to them.
A plunger type effort can be successful (big old mops work very well) or a wet/dry van to get the water out and then it may just be a silted trap??

Drain cleaner hose attachment for a pressure washer might save you a lot of work.

pour some milk down the hole, the weight of water should push whats there further down and you can see where it comes out from, tried it before and it
always worked

If you can get the manhole, sorry inspection chamber, covers off, you could try a process of elimination, by using the coloured water / milk down the
other inlets (soil pipe, rainwater, kitchen sink etc) until you have 1 left that isn't running. Then rod / jet that one.

As a Chartered Surveyor undertaking many house surveys I would have to say it is unusual to have inspection chambers on rainwater or surface water
drains. In Buckinghamshire where I operate most surface water is run on sealed systems to soakaways.
Shifting the blockage with a pressure washer or old mop as suggested might make it run away and then a good volume of water washed through may flush
out the blockage.
If it is on a manholed run note pipes are laid straight. Youi may be able to try the methods above or run a hose up the wrong way. There is no
database of drainage layouts and if there was I wouldn't trust it!
Over the years soakaways silt up and ulitmately then the effective only solution is to dig it all up and replace it.

Had a similar problem last year getting the rod started round the initial bend. We used plastic rods with the 1/2 round attachment and formed a bit
bend in the end of the first rod to get it started. Once the bent rod end was round first bend every worked fine and the blockage was clear in a
couple of minutes. Did help it by flushing with water at the same time.

Ages ago i had a similar problem. In the end called a company in. i seem to recall when the guy arrived i casually mentioned that i was hoping to find
someone i could bung some beer tokens to, he then called in to say he couldnt make it to the job, job got cancelled and i paid him directly! Good
result for me at the time.
Of course this doesnt always work, but as a last result calling in the professionals shouldnt be too expensive. Strangely enough i couldnt get the
rods to go around corners etc. tried all sorts of ends etc. The pro turned up and within 2 mins shoved the rods down and cleared it. From memory he
just pushed harder. maybe your rods are hitting against a join?
