Ford 1800 diesel fuel pump???

Can anyone tell me what sort of fuel pump I have on my '92 Escort 1800 diesel van?

Is it a Bosch or Lucas unit?

I'm toying with the idea of making my own twin tank system for running on veggie oil but I've heard that only really the Bosh unit is up to the job of moving the thicker oil.

Any help much appreciated as always,

Thanks,

Doug.

Greasecar.org in U.S. use a preheater to thin it for their kit. You could run it through a copper coil round the exhaust near the front to thin it down.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Yup. I'm going to make a heat exchanger using the hot water from the heater matrix circuit!

asuming the setup is original, have a look at the fuel filter head,it will say rotodiesel or bosch, the pump should be the same
