Dont think so....
The UN threatened military action and Gadaffi called a cease fire as a result. Sounds more like he is giving up to me...
Lets face it the man is long overdue a political assasination...

yep, +1, didn't think there was any hint of war from the news in the last half hour, where it seems gadaffi has called a cease fire. sounds more
like surrender to me

The Gadaafi army would be flattened by the UN, so i very much doubt there would be any kind of war at all. We just played a full house, and hes
unlikely to come up with a royal flush.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

I am sure that someone on here has the signature to the effect of "never under estimate an idiot", in this case, I say never underestimate
a fanatic, this is a man that has everything to lose.
I hope that you are all correct and that he goes quietly, who or what replaces him may well be another issue.

Don't underestimate the tactics of Gaddaffi he's more artful than that guy behind F1. Which reminds me it's back on again this
weekend. But so is Motogp - even more exciting. Ceasefire? on whose terms? It aint over yet.
No - fly zone, what with, our carrier in in port waiting to be broken up and half the aircraft are either scrapped, waiting to be scrapped or the
pilots are about to be laid off.

I think it's looking promissing and I'm glad to see something happening though I doubt this will all end peacefully. Only last week
everyone was saying the UN won't do anything and it appears they were listening, Britain might not be in a possition to do much good but there
are alot of other countries now who can.
Anyone else think this recent series of uprisings might be related to defense cuts by Britain and the USA?

Ok, forgive my ignorance but you'll have to explain that comment.
From where I am sitting, having foreign forces bombing the crap out of yor country is an act of war..... as per topic title.

So...
We had the 'no-fly' zone pushed through... fine, but this actually turned into a bomb lumps out of Gaddafi's forces zone.
Now it seems that the rebels are not up to the task and Gaddafi is getting the upper hand again... so now we're thinking of arming them!
WTF! Why don't we just go the full hog and invade Libya, secure it's oilfields, dig a big oil-pipe from there to Blighty, secure that...
and then sit back and defend our capture!
This is embarrassing!
I'm almost (I said almost!) wanting Gaddafi to quell the rebellion just so I can see the worlds biggest egg covering the faces of our Cabinet
ministers!
Oh, and I'm still waiting for us to give support to the 'rebels' in the other African and Middle Eastern countries that are going
through change!
