Hah! I've seen them in cupboards around various members of my family. Not sure who has them but definately recognise.
It's funny- stuff from that period seems to have survived. My Mum still has her electric whisk/food mixer from that period. Poking around in
kitchen at the MiL's and found the exact same device... both still fully working and used regularly.
I remember using them for cooking with my Mum as a toddler (who doesn't make jam tarts as a kid! ) so they must be atleast 30 years old.
Pity everything you buy now only lasts 5 minutes!!!
Cheers,
James

we used to hundreds of them when I helped out with a local jumble sale
you've got to love stuff thats built to last
(I've got my mum's 33 year old kenwood chef and my grans eletric whisk (I guess its about 25 years old) - both still going strong )
but if your looking for a replacement grater what about this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kitchen-Craft-Stainless-Rotary-Grater/dp/B0001IWYBO
it might be cheap modern rubish, but its all steel so it can't be that bad.... (famous last words)

I'm a bit cross because our Christmas tree stand has just broken. Dad bought it in Canada in 1955.

31 Years ago we purchased a Fuguson, (sp), TV which lasted fouteen years, but with it came a MATSUI 19" as a free be, this is still in everyday
use in the dining room, and to top it has never had a single repair. Value for money that! Cheers Ray

My mam has an all metal mouli with 1 attachment, had it since I can remember and I'm 31 now.
I bought an asda version of it the other day, it's not as nice as the 30 year old one but it reminds me of being a kid so recommended!
So if you're looking for something like it but not the kitsch old one then pop off to asda!

Brings back memories, my mum had one of those when i was a young boy and i believe it still survives to this day.
Went to Lakeland to get one of these as a close alternative
Multi-purpose grater
But as usual got carried away and came home with one of these which is fantastic
