Holiday in Wales

This year we have decided that Wales will be our destination of choice.

2 dogs
2 adults

I want to visit pits and see engineering things, dogs need water to swim so where do we need to go and what's worth seeing ? location location location

Cheers Mark

Okay, for pits you should really head to Blaenavon and Big Pit. The town is a world heritage site and also contains the best cheese shop I've ever visited.

I wouldn't stay in Blaen; I'd head north-west into the heart of The Brecon Beacons. Somewhere like Talybont would serve you well. There's some truly breathtaking scenery in the area.

Ive done the north a few times and the middle, Beaumaris - Anglesey round the lovely coastline, quiet empty beaches, very similar to the Cornish coast, down to Trearddur Bay is very canny.

Holyhead is twinned with where I grew up in North Shields - So give it a miss, the rest is canny if your after the north end.
