One word cure "Nikon"
Some people can never handle the truth and always try to shoot the messenger instead of taking an honest look in the mirror (its always easier to
blame another than to face reality), but secretly they wish they could grow a pair and be the messenger !!!

Some cameras have an exposure compensation function.
You can set an over exposure of +0.3EV, +0.6 EV, & +1EV.
This will add precisely that value to any meter reading the camera sees.
Early DSLR's under exposed by about 1/3EV to preserve highlight detail.
You could of course correct with software on the computer.
FOUND IT
Button on top near ON/OFF
AV
Press
Turn thumb wheel
Select compensation level
Release button
To turn off press AV and green button
That should do it
One last point
