Time too go........
1st i would like to apoligise to anyone whom i offend, but it seems i went a little to far ????
ide never lower myself to this
quote:
You offensive B*****d!!
or this
quote:
So you have to explain your self to the rest of us then - you patronising F****wit. I'm just sorry that the rest of us are not quite up to your
obviously superior standards of intellect.
i would also like to point out i have a low standard of intellect, cant spell ect..... but i have a love of self build cars that goes back 20
years,
so once again sorry but i aint having foul mouthed posts like that whatever your view, we all have different ones and i respect everyones right to one
but there is better ways than abuse to put it.
Good day folks, happy building.

Not sure but...
I think it was a misguided attempt at humour Jon. The cup of tea bit does give it away. Come on Phil, your turn to say sorry I think
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Oops
Jon
Just found this post
I'm being hesitant here 'cos I suspect the joke may be on me but:
I was not in the slightest bit offended by anything you said jon, nor ever have been. It was a joke (wether funny or not) intended to poke fun at the
recent intolerant attitude on this forum (driven, incidently, by annoyance that we have got to the stage when people feel the need to explain
themselves when posting for fear of causing offence as you just did (explain your self - not cause offence) in the post that started all this) and was
in no way at your expense.
I really thought that the points I had made were so ridiculous and obviously the ramblings of a complete f***wit that no one would take them
seriously. So if I really have in any way caused offence I unreservidly apologise to you and anyone else who may have been offended.
The only thing I do fing intolerable on this forum is intolerance (if you get my drift) and high mindedness and was attempting to ridicule it in my
own warped way. I love this forum for it's humor, irreverence and forthright views and the last thing I want is it to become overun with
political correctness and petty mindedness.
Call a spade a shovel (although technically it isn't I suppose) and let every one agree or disagree but we should do nothing to stifle the
levels of debate and input on this great site.
Once again I appologise.
Phil

Have just read my offending post again.
Please please please tell me that no one is taking it seriously. It was definately offensive rubbish and, intended as a parody as it was, I really
would not want anyone to think that that was my genuinely held point of view.
Sorry again.

Jumpy guy,
Just read your post in 'my final word' and, finding myself in a syd bridge stylee offense causing situation, I have to agree.
I was only trying to make a similar point. Being OTT served two purposes in my mind:
1) by being OTT it makes those who I was trying to parody (not Jon) look daft and hopefully laugh at them selves and realise that fact when they are
getting up tight about the posts of others.
2) I really thought it appeared so ridiculous that every one would realise I didn't mean it.
I know it is only a car forum I really was chilled and trying to make a point in what I, and obviously no one else, thought was a humorous way.
I am not so chilled any more however.
I have the upmost respect for Jon and his opinions and, whilst I already feel that it is ridiculous that anyone should feel compelled to leave the
forum for any diferences of opinion, I think it is even worse that Jon should feel compelled to leave over a matter in which he was entirely innocent
and un-involved.
Certainly it is not fair if this has resulted in the loss of Jon as his contribution to this forum is worth many magnitudes more than mine.
I really do not want this to drag on It was this kind of thing I was 'protesting' against - it was misplaced on my behalf and for that I
apologise. Will someone please e-mail Jon and tell him that he doesn't have to like me or what I said but that he really ought to come back.
However I have no intention of throwing my self onto my sword I'm afraid - I have said previously that I really believe in this forum as a place
for free speech, off the wall humor and strong opinions and that is the way it should be. We all have he option to ignore those we find offensive or
disagreeable and it would be a much duller place without that broad spectrum of opinion and personality. For what it is worth I don't think Syd
should have left either, what ever any of us might have thought of him - you can't deny that he provoked debate and if someones opinion only
serves to strengthen your oposite view then that debate was still worth while.
For the last time I must repeat that no malice or offence was intended to anyone and I am genuinely sorry for any offence caused - my sense of humour
does run away with me at times - can we please continue to talk about cars (or indead breasts) again now.
Yours humbly
Phil
