Really stupid boring stuff
Just to be boring.............the pic of the Russian 8 wheeler reminds me of my tractor driving days, which then reminded me of when I
"graduated" to driving the really big ones..............................."right", says I, "where's the
throttle?"................hmmmmmm, strange pedal layout, how to move off then????? This was driving a Ford "FW-60", with a 14 litre
turbo v8 diesel in it...........quite well worn with all the stickers missing off the controls. So I did the usual and fiddled until it did something,
got it moving and really confused myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
put it in gear and released what i thought was some sort of clutch, only to find the damn thing heading rapidly for a building, and no throttle was
applied................doh doh doh.
Learned a little later that a lot of earthmovers and big tractors are fitted, contrary to the norm, with an engine DECELLERATOR
pedal..................................how many locosters would like one of those!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
