Saxo
Has anyone fitted an aftermarket head unit to a Saxo? Do they come with ISO connectors or do you need an adapter?

A car that new probably does, if not just get a DIN plug (haflord sell them) and wire it up to the cars existing loom.
Its not to hard to do (unless saxo's are particuarly dificult cars) and only needs a few basic wireing tools/connectors.

Would have thought so, mine does and it's a 94, not a saxo though. Have to install one for a friend and don't wanna have to take a trip to
Halfrauds half way through.

One thing to remember is whether the wiring is upto the job which feeds the connector from the loom. If you are using one of todays HIGH POWER head
units and plan to run it LOUD (complete with boy racer attire) then you may overload your existing wiring with nasty consequences. If your head unit
is running 60W/channel (x4) this then equates to 20Amps which is quite likely to be more than the loom was designed to take.
You may need a new main line and earth - is all I'm saying.

Cheers guy's. I'm installing it in for my Girlfriends sister. don't think she's wants to play it loud as it were, I suggested
an amp and sub but she wasn't too keen on that. just didn't wanna get there on Sun and have to drive 10 miles back home to go to
Halfrauds. Much appreciated.

Go to Halfrauds first and see if there is an adaptor plug for that head unit and car.
If there is then you need one! If there is not one listed then the chances are one isn't needed!

When i got my head unit from Halfrauds I got them to pull the old one out just to check whether it needed a new plug, but did not push it right back
in.
The advantage of this was that I didn't need to get/make some forks to remove the old one.

Just been to see it and Saxos do have ISO fittings as standard. The head unit doesn't but does come with an adaptor, shame it didn't come
with the cage to fit it though.
Cheers guys.

No cage? is the head unit second hand, if so then the cage is probibly still in a car with a broken passanger window.

It's not stolen, well unless the former owner was stupid enough to leave the box, key, instructions and European warranty on the passenger seat
too.
