Anyone seen Supersize Me?

Has anyone seen Supersize me?

Watched it tonight - what an eye opener.

I won't be eating much fast food ever again, especially McD's.

Pat...

Saw it early September- I agree, what an eye opener!

I knew the food was bad but it was too easy to ignore that and just munch away.

The bit that really got me was on the 2nd day when he was drinking that bucket of Coke they gave him. 42, yes, 42 teaspoons of sugar in there!

Anyway, since I saw it I've not drunk Coke or Pepsi (which has been really hard!), nor will I go to McD's or Burger King.
As a result of the absence of Coke my teeth are noticeable whiter if nothing else!

Good film, and like Jamie Oliver, he should get a knighthood!

Cheers,
James

P.S. I've quit KFC too- had one a them 2 months ago and when I saw what was left afterwards I felt physically sick!

I havnt seen it, but it doesnt strike me as friggin rocket science that if you ate the same thing, day in day out, it would be bad for you.

take a low calorie low fat diet instead. I bet if you ate low calorie rice crackers, celery and diet coke for a month, you would be in a worse state.

black forest gateau, pork pies, crisps beer are all pretty nice. If you had them as a diet for a month, would they be any different from a mcD all the time.

how about fish and chips for a month?

pizza for a month?

kebabs for a month?

sod it - lets just not eat.

it gets depressing when you realise that almost every food available is full of shite (preservatives, flavour enhancers, anti coagulants, gelling agents, colouring etc).

and even if you eat fresh fruit and veg its drowned in pesticides.

you may as well just accept, we get shafted daily by these crap food companies.

That was part of Mc'D defence, "If you ate nothing but fruit for a month you would be unhealthy"

But Maccy's call them 'meals' which they are obviously not.

I like McDonalds for what it is, fast and consistant. You order a bigmac you know what it will taste like and you get it fast. I'm not so dumb as to think it will be a healthy diet, but it often fills a gap for me....

When you look at the amout of burgers McDonalds sell in the UK, on the basis there are plenty of people who never eat there, there must be some who do eat there nearly every day which is a scary thought.

There are plenty of things we can eat every meal which would do no harm, and would provide a reasonably balanced deit. My wife is a nutritionist and tells me loads about it - I even take notice of some of it Still like a burger occassionally, but they tend to be home made from organic beef - way tastier than anything from the golden arches!

I had meat and potato pie for tea, with carrots and cauliflower. Last time I had a burger was 1998. Bacon and chicken are off the menu too. Have you seen the drugs they feed them poor creatures.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

chickens live for between 36 and 42 days - from a little yellow chick to a 3lb or so bird.

I think beef is also pumped full o crap too.

meat and potato pie isnt that healthy - pies have a load of saturated fat in em!

The food is crap, but it's fast, easy, and as stated before, considtant. Everything in moderation, and enjoy the time you have. My brother is a health-nut. He rides his bicycle 50+ miles per week, doesn't eat meat, etc. Will he live longer than me? Possibly, but I'll have enjoyed a lot more variety of food and more time with my family.

On a semi-related note, I find this funny:
