Top Gear ban?
Some bloody do-gooder group are trying to get Top Gear banned.
LINK
My favourite line is "If we must have Jeremy Clarkson on the television, let's give him something useful to do, such as trying out public
transport or road-testing new bicycles. Perhaps he would like to drive a bus; he'd find it just as much fun as a Ferrari"!!!

I do believe they have compared your average car to public transport, like that ferrari they took to the alps and the aston to monaco?? public
transport sucks - i have to use it to get to work, so i know!
it has been in the paper the last couple of days - makes me laugh.
Ned.

There are dark forces at work here
Anyone know why 'Ultimate Force' never finished?
Is there a group of people who hate any TV program that is escapist?
Cheers
Mark
For the record I have never seen any of Michael Palin's around the garden in 20 minute type programs. Bores me just talking about
it.
If a bolt is stuck force it.
If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway!!!

I was really surprised to see Michael Palin involved with this. I would've thought he is a bit more open minded than some of these protesters
seem to be, and I'm surprised he can't see that it's just a bit of fun.
Oh well, I won't hold it against him, he did give us Monty Python and Ripping Yarns after all!

I just can't believe that article is serious:
"If we must have Jeremy Clarkson on the television, let's give him something useful to do, such as trying out public transport or
road-testing new bicycles."
and
"a replacement show called Third Gear, which would promote sensible driving in sensible vehicles"
Sounds like really interesting televeision.
Cheers,
Matt.

Ban???
Proposing to ban any programme, is usually a surefire way of improving the ratings.
How did JC work this one, then??
Work-in-Progress: Changed to Zetec + T9. Still trying!!

What kind of fools do those ????? take us for.
I've seen silance of the lambs, but I don't go out catching younger wimen, starving them and then skin them in order to wear thier
skin.
I've seen Van Hagen disecting human bodies on TV, but I don't go out body snatching so I can do the same.
I've seen Top Gear and have no intrest in finding out how fast I need to go before a gatso won't flash me.

If they ban top gear then they would have to ban ALL motorsport from the tv inc F1 unless everybody went round the track at no more than 70MPH!
Also it annoys me when people say stuff like "Oh why don't they test normal cars instead of al these super expensive cars!
IT'S CALLED 'TOP GEAR'
Righ..calm down.....calm down.......

I like it, it's normally a good laugh and they have some nice cars and good features. It's also refreshing to have someone (Clarkson) who
isn't afraid to speak their mind (not that I agree with everything he says - he's always slagging off Brum )
It's also the only program I can watch - I don't get a reception on channel 5 down at uni so I can't watch Fifth Gear, and I
haven't got sky or cable so my choices are pretty limited!
Cheers,
Pete

Ok - I feel a Rant coming on..................
"Would the last person to leave the country please turn out the lights!"
I've said it before and I'll say it again - Gravity is a myth - this country sucks!
Imagine if you will.......... <Dramatic fade>
The year is 2020, the place Britain (the Great was removed in 2015 because it was felt that it may offend poorer nations), United states of Europe.
President Chirac is running for re-election, his manifesto details new laws constraining all Caucasians from free speech in public to prevent the
unnecessary offence to 'visiting' foreign nationals who may not understand our language. The car has long since been banned and ownership
decreed a mortal sin by Pope GW Bush the Second. After the Car ban caused the Ford/Vauxhall Nova riots in 2012 (also known as the Burberry Riots TM.)
It was decided to reassign all 'safety cameras ' to new duties. It is now the sole preserve of safety cameras to issue jay walking tickets
to those unwise enough to cross the road other than at a designated "Culturally diverse animal Crossing" (the term pelican had to be
dropped for fear of enacting the new species hatred law of 2007). The only jobs available are in the legal profession as all other industries have
been sued out of existence by foreign based Super companies (who legally have to swear fealty daily to Uberfuhrer Gates).
Philip schofield is currently living in exile after being vilified for appearing on television not wearing a coat whilst standing in the rain, a
serious offence under the mis-direction of the public act 2006. If he ever returns to britian (the capital b has had to dropped since i started
writing this due to new legislation preventing discrimination against lower case [sorry typographically disadvantaged] letters.) he will undoubtedly
face a very long stay in azkahban - the new super prison sited on the old city of bradford.
Racial disharmony has been eradicated, this was largely helped by the mass migration of all British nationals to Canada or New Zealand.

Have a look at this article...
BBC
I'm sure people will make sure the watch this show... NOT!
First time I read it I thought it was a very clever p*ss-take, but then I saw that the author was from the pressure group who started the whole
kerfuffle.

I have nothing against environmentally friendly motoring and considerate driving, but thats taking the pi55, and is not interesting TV.
Top Gear is meant to be about exotic cars that few people can afford. 5th gear is a bit more realistic in the cars they test.
On the subject of environmental motoring...anyone heard the green parties manifesto....

I like the poster - "Kill your speed not a child"
I suggest another - "Teach your kids the bloody green cross code!"

Top Gear went the way of testing normal cars for a while and it soon became one of the dullest programs on TV - if I want to watch a Fiesta driving
around I'll go and stand outside!
Now they test cars that nobody can afford it's much better again!
