GT4 Caterham Fireblade

Has anyone else found that the Caterham in Gran Turismo 4 is ridiculously slow? Or is there something wrong with my controller?

After a few tests it does the 1/4 mile in 15.5 seconds at about 100mph, and 0-60 takes over 7 seconds! Surely this can't be right?! 168bhp/369kg = 455bhp/ton, surely it should be performing better than this?

Maybe you need better tyres

Avon ACB10s are very popular..

I haven't tested this myself but from what I understand from other GT4 forums the PS2 has trouble processing the car,
as you can see the driver move, hence not being able to race it against any other cars!

Which I found to my cost after scrimping the 60k? to buy it only to find it was a "special car"

its standard gearing is woeful. takes about 20 minutes to get out of first gear..
buy a gearbox with customiseable gearing and you can sort the acceleration out

it is ultimately pointless though.. good for a rag around the nordschleife but thats about it.

you will find that if you fit the supercharger kit and and generally pep it up a bit it seems much more revvy and realistic, and if not more realistic its much more fun to drive after modifiying it!!

Spend a lot money on it! Its the answer, it then becomes an awesome little car. I found it a little skittish for a bumpy track like the nurburgring. Shame you can't race it though...

Hmm disappointing to say the least, I thought once I had that I'd be able to thrash everything in any race, turns out I can hardly use it! If only they had Noble as one of the Brit manufacturers...

I must admit to finding GT4 just a bit of a bore altogether ..... just too much time spent doing the same old races just to get enough ££££ together to do the next race .......

Give me Burnout 3 Takedown anytime, much more fun, especially with two players.

MY GT4 is up for sale - any offers?
