Anybody wanna watch some autograss this weekend??

It's the BIG one................

MAP open at the Evesham club track, just outside Stratford upon Avon, at Dodwell Raceway (opposite the Dodwell Caravan park on the Bidford on Avon road)

Last year it was unofficially the biggest motorsport event ever held, with an entry of 712!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be racing (in the first heats at least!!) and there will be saome AWESOME cars there.

To whet your appetite:

Metro mid engined RWD with Mazda twin turbo rotary power

Twin bike engined spaceframe specials with 500hp in 500kg chassis!

Supercharged 6 ltr chevy spaceframe specials

etc etc etc

It is one not to miss, you'll be hooked just like I was 4 years ago when I first watched!!!

here's some handy info:

Top day out at Evesham. Are you a member of Evesham then ? you know Dave, Jim and Ed by any chance ? they have orange 205's and I *think* Jims Nova is currently purple, but his Zanussi...sorry...Landy is now bright orange.

NS Dev, I'd love to come if it wasn't for the distance.....
Any chance of any pictures, particularly of interesting (i.e. all) middies?

Have fun,

Alan B

I always thought Eveshams 'colour' was white - or has that been relaxed a bit now?

Folks, Just want to say what a fantastic event this was. Brillant fun and great company! Not sure if the highlight was watching NS DEV race, watching everyone else race (and the many little incidents), driving his car or making a blast furnace at 11:30pm!

A must do for next year!

Got to say the blast furnace was probably the funniest!!!!!

can't believe that we got a pot belly stove cherry red!

can Mr Irvine get his video clip on here somehow, it looked like a steelworks!!!

Just to add, the car of the meeting for me had to be "Baby Growler" the twin v-twin powered class 10, just awesome watching the torque make the car hop from wheel to wheel down the straight!!!!

Close second had to be the transverse rear engined supercharged v8 fiesta class 7!!

I have certainly never seen cars smoke their tyres on soil as much as this weekend, burning out a set of tyres in 4 laps on soil is pretty extreme!!

oh yes, possible new "big event" record too, think there were 754 signed on this year!!!!!!

The commentator came on to the tannoy at about 11:00 on Sunday morning to announce that the 200th!!!!!!!!! race was about to start................................god knows how many races ran in total by the end of Sunday!!!

Well Im not sure, they had minis that were white a long time ago but there 205's are without doubt 'bright' orange

Wish I could have spared the time, but driving my Rush for the first time took precedent, also the task of building a spit roast was begun...

best car ...........

errm, well L25 was pretty cool !!!!! (NS DEV's car)

Loved the car that managed to pick both front wheel's up mid corner, keep control and win the race.

In fact most cars where fab with a lot of great racing. One memorable moment was the girl who won the kids mini race class, she drove off the circuit via her parents, she was smiling so wide and so happy - must have been worth it for the parents!

Just need to go a bit quicker again now. Just realised that I am in Le Mans on the 19th June which was the next meeting at Leicester......................................DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Need more practice!!!!

Still thinking about a class 7 though and a bravery enhancement!!!!
