Good Grout Cleaner?
Anyone got a good tip for cleaning my bathroom tile grouting, have tried toothbrush and bleach , but its slow and not that effective.......
What about those steam cleaner jobbies, or the dreaded Cillit Bang (typed very carefully!)

Have been able to get grout clean with bleach, without much scrubbing.
Try spraying on a 50/50 solution and let it sit for 10 minutes; respray if necessary. Shouldn't take any more than 2 or 3 applications.

I used bleach - worked well for me.
I used neat thick bleach (Domestos or similar)
Scrubbed it on with a dish brush, left it for a while then scrubbed it off with lots of water.
I've seen mildew treatments that you mix with bleach but haven't tried them.
You might try a pressure washer - cheap £50 Chineese ones aren't too bad

Dave -you sad git!!
Have you tried one of those grout pens? It's like a white marker that paints just the grout.

Dave, I presumed you are trying to kill mildew, in which case bleach IS the remedy and just keep persisting (and the gel is great) until you win.
But if you've been doing a little, ah, home butchering and it's bloodstains you're dealing with, or rust, bleach is no go because
these substances are already oxidized.

Dave, I've just re-read your post. I think the problem is the toothbrush - wrong approach - you need to splatter the stuff allover the wall and
use a much bigger brush

It's not particularly mildew and it's not blood stained, but it is about 20yrs old and I dont want to dig the grout out and redo if I can
dodge it.
We're talking fast cheeeep spruce up jobbie.....

Might seem like an arse on, but you can get a tool from your DIY store that scrapes away the top layer of grout allowing you to regrout. Good as new.
A bit of slapstick never hurt anyone.

as above, just douse the lot in thick neat bleach, scrub in a bit and leave for an hour or two, will be gleaming white when you come back!
