looks like fun,but im sure the way things seem at the moment for sva ing it you would have to disconect the drive from one of the engines,,if you
wanted to sva it that is.other wise have it as an awsome track day machine woohoo

Should be.
I'd get myself over onto the BEC list and ask the question there. Simon Ranson is normally lurking, but you won't get a response until he
brings the Twin Tiger back from Le Mans on Tues.
Alternatively, give Chris @ Z Cars a ring and ask the question.

On the scrapyard challenge that saw them driving all over the country the team with the twin engined taxi was forced to disconnect one engine every
time they drove on the road. Wheter this was because they were each driving a different axle I am not sure, but obviously they thought there were
problems in using two engines

There's a fairly detailed thread about that car on the WSCC (which seems to be down at this moment), its a fairly old chassis (~1988 ISTR) and
some have commented on there that it would be a bit of a minefield to get through SVA, but Im not sure exactly the reasons why.
IMHO they are a good novelty and quick when they are running but the transmission box etc does cause some problems (overheating) and I wouldnt want to
track one regularly. If you get onto the WSCC, drop Tim Duncan (TimD) an email tell him I sent you, he built the other orange Westie twin that Jan
Coombes (of Fluke Motorsport) now owns so he'd be able to give you a bit of advice on what to look out for and what the pitfalls are.

Take one of the engines and the transfer box out and sell them, put the other one in the proper place, fit some lights and then sva it. Two engines
use twice as much fuel but don't give twice as much speed. How do they calculate the bhp or do they just measure it at the wheels?, 300bhp
sounds optimistic for 2 ZX9R engines even if they add the two outbuts together.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I think the later ZX9s were (slightly optimistically) rated at ~152bhp each, so hence the 304bhp figure that seems to be attributed to all the ZX9
twins.
Modding this car would be a fairly major undertaking though, and not worth the hassle IMHO. You might not get much for the parts you sell because the
ZX9s don't sell for much and the transfer box is of use to so few people that you might have it sitting in the garage for months without a bite.
The chassis will have been modified to mount the two engines so will likely need re-modding back, and also you'd need a new manifold, new prop,
new bonnet plus loads of wiring, new dash, new gearchange mechanism etc, so assuming you got it for ~£8-9k you'd end up having spent probably a
total of ~£10-12k to get yourself a 15 year old narrow Westie with a ZX9 in, when you can get a year old Megablade for less.

Consensus so far would be "don't do it " then Drew

I would go along with that, unless you go into it with your eyes wide open to the potential pitfalls of running a twin (££), and accept that
there's a fair chance that it will be off the road more than on.
I'll post this thread to Tim to see what he says.

The tiger is road legal and has one engine driving the front and another driving the rear. the new twin hyabusa Ultima also has one engine for the
front and the other driving the rear. Both were made by Z Cars so they obviously know how to make this setup road legal. I beleive they employ a very
clever (and expensive) "electronic diff" which balances the output.
There was also a post on here recently about a guy who had fitted twin engines to VW Scirocco - some good vids driving in the snow - looked great fun.

Paraphrasing what Tim said:
They had to strap a volvo back box to the side of Simon Ranson's car to get the noise down enough for SVA. This red one will need rewiring for
lamps, handbrake (so prob rear calipers) as a minimum. The bodywork is all Pre SVA so no idea what may need changing on that, and it's live axle
which isnt great at handling that kind of power without significant mods. It's also going need all the extra crap on the transfer box for
cooling etc to make it work on road or circuit, it's a hillclimb car currently so only has to last for 2mins at a time.
Summing up he said that personally he wouldn't touch it unless it was really cheap.

I think the Crapheap challenge car was not road legal because both the front and rear wheel steered with seperate steering wheels.

I know you have made up your mind but just wanted to add that a friend of mine (not seen in ages) has one of these twin bike jobbies and has had loads
of problems with it so looks like you have made the right choice.
