F1 French GP - Bernie Ecclestone interview
Can someone tell me what Bernie Ecclestone said when being interviewed by Jim concering the question what positive thing did they get out of the USA
GP?
My ondigital freeview box decided to lock up and play silly buggers just as Bernie was giving his answer.
The only part I caught what when Jim said something about that being 'sexist'
Any ideas?
I also noticed Martin Brundel going on about them being a friendlier bunch at the back of the grid and he's not welcome down the front after
last time
What happend for the grid walk around at the US GP then??

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

Apparently it was regarding the situation and all the rumours of the 7 teams not running & going straight into the pits after the parade lap.
Obviously he was trying to get them spill the beans on the situation and so the frostyness I think.

Its not all Ecclestone's fault......
Did I realy say that?
Please don't resent me for it but its a totaly different sport now.
Drivers think about the future whereas in the days before ecclestone when no team could contest a full season because there wasn't the money,
drivers only cared about which totty they had in bed after the race.
He seems to have lost the plot a little in recent years, but over the years he has done a vast amount for the sport. I blame the HSE (or motor sport
equiverlant) and the pace of car developed ment. In the words of clarkson earlier tonight (not an acurate quote) "the only problem with the
merc/maclaren is the squishy organic thing behind the steering wheel"

The number of big teams going bust mid season has actually increased in the Ecclestone years. Back in the 60s/70s stoneage teams like Lotus, Cooper,
Brabham, Tyrell, MacLaren, BRM, Ferrarri and March formed a core around which short lived wannabee teams and private entrants dropped in and out.
Apart from the obscene amount of money around the only difference today is private entrants no longer exist having been replaced by rent a drive
seats.
The fact is Bernie dosen't give a hoot for the tradditions of the sport if he can make even more money from it --- he would sell is granny (or
home Grand Prix) for a few hundred thousand fast bucks.
F1 needs to take stock, it needs to get back to its historic roots, it is impossible to maintain the status of F1 with so many races in the calender
and so many of them away from its traditional home western europe.
Lets get the back to the tradditional tracks and away from the artifical Donald Duck autodromes (a bit like a Mickey Mouse track but much bigger).
Compare the excitement of a Grand Prix at Spa with the ghastly pointlessness of the wiggle waggle that is the Hockenheim stadium section.

Thats a thought. Do you think Ebay would allow it ?........................... selling your Granny that is. What would the reserve price be ?
Obviously, buyer collects, I don't think DHL do Grannies
