Bloody chavs
Grr some chav in his "well sorted pug" has just rear ended me whilst i was turning right at a junction.
There was me pottering back from the shops ( the long way as usual ) when this 206 comes up behind me in a very agressive manner. So i put my foot
down and he becomes a little blue dot in my mirror. My road comes up so i indicate left start to slow and just as i am crossing the hazard line i
heard tyres squealing. Odd i thought the wheels dont normally lock up on this at this deceleration rate then BANG i realise what was happening.
His first words were "aahh man dis was a mint motah i av spent loads onit"
ahh well - these things happen.
damage not too bad , just bloody annoying.

his dad owns the boozer on the junction where it happened so insurance shouldnt be an issue. He would prefer to settle out of insurance though which
is actually fine by me - more scope to screw him over on the repairs without an assessor watching

from the look of it the damage could have been far worse. make sure you check in to the doctors on monday morning complaining of neck ache before you
call his insurers

should be on duty tonight (fireman) but rang in with an off duty injury - stiff neck. so now the brigade might sue him for my wages too !

the important thing is, to make sure he has to claim, to make insurance more expensive in future and to make him think twice about his driving in
future...

Bad luck , hope your "neck " gets better, looks expensive to me . Just a observation , but your fuel pipe is the old flexible plastic type
that gets hard with age and leaks , didn't know you could still get it . Would recommend you change it to the more modern type that is
compatable with unleaded fuel .

Tough.. eh.. Hope it hasnt twisted your chassis, damaged your neck, had you off work, etc Get some nice Quotes for the repairs as a starter.. You
will need some paperwork and quotes to wave at him.
After all its his fault.. Too Fast, or Too Close, or a combination of both.

Be careful on the insurance issue since his insurer might not know about any mods he has made to his car and might choose to not pay up. You would
then need to go to small claims court probably to recoup damages. If you can get a good payout from him then I'd take the cash if it was me but
do make sure he pays through the nose for his mistake...
Glad the damage isn't too bad and hopefully your stiff neck will heal up with a bit of therapy. I hear swedish massage is good for whiplash
injuries although it might be expensive...

I'd have called the cops. I got knocked off my bike and the first thing I did was to make the other guy call the cops (his 'phone bill).
He got the book thrown at him for crap driving and my insurance sued the arse off him and I got more than I would have done if the police hadn't
been present.
Hope you're back on the road soon.

Chav twat. Should have smacked him. Damage doesnt look to bad though. Id go for at least 500 quid. As said above watch his insurance as he
may not have declared his mods.
Id have rang the police just to worry him!

I phoned the cops within 10 mins to be told it wasnt notifyable ( feck knows how to spell that after all this beer! )
no damage to street furniture, no other property involved , no residue on road way, no personal injury ...... yet.
more paperwork than its worth.

i would always alledge personal injury and disputed liability - 2 reasons that would make the police have to attend. Having been rear-ended before by
an uninsured driver, i wouldnt risk being out of pocket again. Once there the police would take details and you have more chance of correctly
identifying the driver.

Just thought i would do an update.
The car is now fully repaired with new lights and back panel. The bars just pushed back into place using some hydaulic spreaders ( like the type
firemen use to cut up cars - but I didnt use my ones at work because the brigade would go mental, I didnt use them boss , honest  ).
total cost £95
donation by friendly local chav £500
That left me with £405 which I split between an MSA go racing pack and and ARDS instruction and test day ( silverstone oct 23rd ).
Cant wait , I would recommend getting rear ended by a chav.
