I had a magazine where some guy put a bike engine in one so anything's possible.

How about a lightweight box-section chassis with wishbone suspension and modern drive train? I've thought that would be fun to do with a US car
of the 30s or 40s.

That ladder chassis looks anything but light! It's interesting how they claim "sports car" handling (in inverted commas!), I would
have thought it would be as stiff as a letuce sandwich.
Their SuperCar chassis looks more like the real thing.
Cheers, Rorty.

Will be (when I get time!) doing the same to an opel manta (don't ask, I just love em!)
They rot to bugge5y but I love the shape and a spaceframe would not be too tricky to construct inside it.
I mentioned it a while ago, but have a look on www.valvers.com for further ideas, especially the manta v6 thread in project diary.

SSC Stylus - you can even fit a removeable hardtop and wind-up windows

I picked the picture mainly because of the wishbones and coilovers, and the "out with the old, in with the new" appeal of it.
Yeah, it could use some X-bracing. And I'd look into constructing from 2" X 4" RHS, 16 or 18 gauge.
I'll give you that it would never be as stiff as a good spaceframe, but it would be a big improvement for something like this:

A unicycle would be a big improvement over something like that!
Sorry, not picking holes in all your posts; I just couldn't resist.
