Ethical dilema.

This test only has one question, but it's a very important one.
By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally.
The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will
have to make a decision.
Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous. Please
read slowly and give due consideration to each line.
You are in Florida - Miami to be specific. There is chaos all around you
caused by a hurricane with severe flooding. This is a flood of biblical
proportions. You are a photojournalist working for a major newspaper, and you're
caught in the middle of this epic disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless and
you're trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people
swirling around you, some disappearing under the water. Nature is unleashing all
of its destructive fury.
Suddenly, you see a man floundering in the water. He
is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken down with the debris. You
move closer ...and discover that somehow, the man looks familiar. You
suddenly realize who it is. It's George W. Bush! At the same time, you notice
that the raging waters are about to pull him under. You have two options: You
can save the life of G.W. Bush, or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer
Prize-winning photo, documenting the death of one of the world's most powerful men.
So here's the question, and please give an honest answer:

Would you select high-contrast color film, or would you go with the
classic simplicity of black and white?

Cheers, Rorty.

Very good!

black and white, the grainy finish would capture perfectly the destruction around and dispair on his face. Colour just wouldn't have the emotional intensity.

Now would you shout his name so he looks at you as you take the picture?

B & W - I would have taken my time to install it to after running to my canoe for my non-digi-SLR! I always find B & W takes a much better shot and gives more impression to the viewer of it's dramtic content. Colour would loose the effect in this situation... but then again, he's probably drowned now

Good points Mike and Hellfire!...You are right!
But there again....if you two did the black and white, I did the colour, we have the situation covered......no ethical dilema!

take it in colour, then photoshop it to b&w, that way you can sell different versions to various media groups and earn more money and up your career quicker.

maybe throw something controversial into the water aswell, maybe something he was reading that he shouldn't have been.

Ned.

ps i said reading, maybe i mean looking at the pictures lol

Definately black and white. The reason for this is all politicians live in a world where everything is a grey area:

Would take the picture of my boot on his head in either format, and would just save the picture for personal pleasure, would be worth forgoing the Pulitzer!!

I'd put on my scuba gear, get the waterproof video camera and follow him down!
