Unleaded & LRP
Can an unleaded vehicle be run on LRP for a short period of time. Some garages by us have already run out of unleaded

Not if its fitted with a cat, the filler nozzlle wouldnt go in the tank anyway.

as paul says really. even if you were clever and got it in the tank you'd cause hundreds of pounds of damage in a fairly short time that
wouldn't show up for a while. can't believe the panic buying ppl are doing already!
built a car, built a home, had a family. lost the family, lost the home, still got the car.

No doubt they'll have a law in place by the end of the week allowing them to do that. Although there's probably something in the new anti

takes the wee this. i agree with the lorry drivers etc cos fuel costs way too much.
what does my head in is the old codgers filling up jerry cans for their 1.4 diesel cars so they can go to the corner shop at their own convenience.
and when i run out of fuel in my big 4x4 (its the only car i can use for both work and as a general comuter and i cant afford to run both a van and a
car) i cant get to work and earn my bread.

its a vicious circle, makes me want to go out and fill all 4 cars/vans up to ensure i can work all week!

I used 3/4 of a tank today , and need to go to Dorset tomorrow, so that'l be another 3/4 of a tank, all the petrol stations near me had a dirty
great queue, what's the point of all these people filling up their cars when they only do a couple of miles a day ??? P's me off
that i can't get to work 'cos of all these panickers !!!!

We have a car which needs LRP so don't go pinching all of that if you don't need it. I may be relying on that car later this week when all
the unleaded has run out - worked well for me 5 years ago.

I went out this evening to fill up my wife's car (not panic buying - she was down to a quarter-tankful) and it was the only car on the forecourt
- there had been queues earlier, but they'd gone mid-evening.
So I recommend going out very early in the morning, or late in the evening and, please, only if you need it!

can you actually still buy LRP?
I havnt seen a pump in Northants / Herts area with LRP the whole of this year.......
All you get is 95 and 98 grade unleaded, and diesel

Last fuel 'crisis' I was driving an LRP MK1 Fiesta.
I still remember driving past a BMW 550 doing 45 mph

You'll be lucky to find super unleaded round this way - only a few supermarkets have it. Otherwise you have to pay for Optimax or the BP
equivalent.
Last time I went into a German petrol station they had 3 grades of unleaded on offer...

It's not the panicers that are the problem it is the protesters. Protest against the govenment if you have problem against them. Don't

For anyone in Soton area, I brought my youngster home from hospital yesterday, and filled up at the Texaco along Millbrook. 93.2/L no queues. Was
cheaper further along at the Shell, and they have Optimax. Tesco on the Winchester road, just up from the Millbrook roundabout was 93.9/l

That's what makes this protest so misguided and unfair.
The only people who will suffer are those who need the fuel to go to work, or to run small businesses. The oil companies and the government will
barely suffer, as they'll just get their revenue a few days later. Maybe the oil companies will lose a penny or three on their share price -
big deal.
Who gave these protesters the right to screw up peoples' lives?
I wonder how many small businesses will go to the wall if this takes hold...

I only know one station round here that has it, and that is a supermarket. I guess sometime soon I will have to start buying the additive instead, or
get a new cylinder head.

one thing to remember.
its not actually the protesters fault.
All they said they would do was to do go slows on certain roads, and hold meetings outside of fuel refineries.
They have stated they have no intent of blockcading. People are just assuming the worst.
