Look dodgy to anyone else?

just perusing ebay and came across this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-Apple-iPOD-Mini-4GB-Green-MP3-Music-Player_W0QQitemZ5810739354QQcategoryZ90964QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Title says it is an ipod mini, description says it is an ipod photo and the picture is a completely different mp3 player, wants western union money transfer and coming from Germany. hasnt sold or bought anything on ebay for over a year...
wouldnt touch it with a 10 ft barge pole.

I would agree with your thoughts, steer well clear.

remember, you can report items to ebay and let them decide if its fraud. Its a waste of 5 mins, but i often do it just to make life harder for scammers, lets face it its a rather easy job, robbing the foolish, so someones got to make ife hard for them! Ive reported this one too.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/safetycentre/index.html

follow the link, box one is 'report a listing violation', box 2 is 'fraudulent listings', and box 3 is 'report a listing you think is fraudulent'

All the particulars are genuine enough...

He admitingly states the photo is of a 60Gb IPod not the 4Gb he is advertising... a little odd but a well structured question would solve that. Also, you could ask whether he accepts PAYPAL which should be safer. Other than that - I'd steer clear too.

For what it's worth - there are plenty of alternatives to iPod which are as good as if not better than iPod anyway.

i tried to report something to ebay the other day but gave up as the system was too crappy to easily find how you do it.

if they were so concerned, there would be a report button on each listing......

One of my friends just got a Nano - look good but they are still very big. I wouldn't like to think I'd got that much music on a player. I've got a 1Gb mp3 player, even plays you the words on-screen for you to sing along to! (Should you so wish ) Get 10-12 decent quality (196kbps) albums on it - USB2 get music from anywhere not where they want me too. and it's all squeezed into a 20mmx20mmx40mm cube... music and build quality is very good and has an FM Radio graphic equalizer etc etc....

Benji - my mp3 player is not available as yet. There are no commercial photographs of it either... so, this is mine with the 50p at the side of it for comparison. Sorry for the picture quality - I've just took it after having a look around the net for a better image but there isn't one...

Ipod mini's are great!

I am a bit slow on modern non mechanical technology, but I think the £130 that Argos charged for mine (which is what they go for on ebay anyway with the postage) was a bargain.

the 4 gig seems to go on forever too, dunno what the storage format on it is but it is way more compressed than mp3!!!!

The griffin Itrip fm transmitter means that I don't need to buy the cd player for my car that I have been putting off for about 10 years!!!
