i'm pretty sure it adjusts the value from the inlet air temperature sensor into the ECU, make the ECU think the air is warmer or something like that, don't know if they work though.

Its basically a 10p (at most) resistor that replaces the air temp sensor so that the temp remains constantly lower. This puts more fuel in so might give you a bit more power, but won't be too good for your car and wont help the MPG as they claim!

How does it work?
It will modify any standard ECU by telling the ECU that the incoming air in the intake system is cold and so advances the ignition to compensate producing more power. In many cases fuel economy is increased too. Power is increased by up to 15BHP and torque is increased significantly.

so, it must surely overfuel, so htf will that give better milage?

I put a similar thing in my 2.0 Audi TDi

feels a lot quicker, and an extra 3 mpg on my weekly average

colleague at work has a 1.9 SEAT and he gets extra mpg too
