WOW, what can I say, the best race I've seen in ages, not the usual snore inducing procession

Alonso was absoloutely fearless. There's alot of teams with alot of work to do over the winter. Schuey was painfully slow in a straight line. I
can't help feeling that Fissi has sealed his fate for '06 in a manner similar to that of Trulli last year in France. Kimi superb and
Webber + D.C. also put in great drives where as Button was as bit of a let down IMO. Good to see Montoya and Sato didn't dissapoint!

...but we've had to wait all season for a cracker. Sorry, but F1 totally stopped doing it for me 3 years ago when I went to the Brit GP
(Birthday pressie). The average punter is treated like c**p. I've got pics my father took at the '61 and '62 GPs at Aintree, in
the paddock with Jo Bonnier. I know it's a different game now but the proximity to the sport is just not there. My daughter (18) is always
after going to see Rallycross, Superbikes, forest rallies (and I exclude the Rally GB from this heading!), in fact anything where she can get a feel
for what is going on. F1 has a major problem in that to make it more entertaining it has to become less technology driven - imagine the scenario with
minimal aerodynamics; no drafting, plenty of drifting - and hey, overtaking. Sorry to put the mockers on what was an excellent race, but it's
just a flash in the pan - the ingredients are not conducive to a great race time after time.

I see racing about speed...
who can go the fastest around an track..
that's it... if you llike drifting go to an drifting event...
but as you know racing is about fast and drifting isn't fast..the same as wheel spin..
and locking brakes...
i like Formula 1 because everytime i see those cars running i know there are hundreds of people who worked for that
car..
also i like it when they have an new electronic tool wich makes the car faster..why? because its about going fast!
that's racing going as fast as you can with all the stuff you have/can....
offcourse an driver is important for me, an bad driver cant drive an F1 car..
look at fisi and alonso.. look at schumi and barichello..
look at button and sato..
look at trulli and R.Schumi...
sow difference is there plenty..they are all running with the same stuff....
i like the concept allot more from F1 as from A1 why? because in F1 you give innovation an change, in a1 you cant. or it will be given to
everyone..
soow what would be F1 be if all cars was the same? the best driver would win always..

f1 is like marmite. Love it or hate it.
Some people will forever complain of a lack of overtaking etc, others will appreciate the action there is. With f1, you are in for the long haul, you
enjoy it season at a time not race at a time.

Not aimed at anyone in particular as it happens on loads of forums every time there is an F1 race, but it always amazes me why people who know they
wll find it boring spend 3 hours of their lives watching each race, then spend even more of their lives complaining about it on forums afterwards.

I know I'll sound like a scratched record, but I watched World Superbike this morning - 2 riders leaning on each other and swapping paint, going
through a corner at 150+ mph! Bikes doing 2-wheel slides at over 100mph on most of the fast corners, every lap.
Now THAT IS exciting...

From about 1989 to 1999 or so I bought autosport every week, and went to 6 GP's - inc both that were in the UK in '93.
Then it became clear to me a couple or so years back that it was a waste of time watching it.
Racing should consist of competition and overtaking. There is no overtaking, and there is no competition, as until lately, schu won everything.
Compare this to north american series, and there is plenty of overtaking and usually half a dozen or more winners in a season.
If F1 is the pinnacle of racing cos of the technology, where do the drivers come into that? I dont want to see a bunch of microprocessors race
themselves.

F1 used to be good I went to every british GP for 10 years and also a couple of european races. Then Bernie F$@ked it up.

I (Steve) stopped watching F1 a couple of season's ago... when it became clear Schuey wasn't going to loose I stopped watching. Worrying
thing is - now he ain't winning I still can't be bothered to watch.
He's killed my pig... as they say, and I ain't going back in a hurry!
I enjoy to watch Superbikes and BTCC as it is fun... 'nuf said.

Nascar is run with very basic aero packages(mainly for safety reasons), carbs and pushrod V8's.
Has the biggest spectator following of any single motorsport discipline.
Why? Excellent entertainment!Passing and battles.
Wonder when Bernie will learn??
F1 will innovate and go high tech, until it disappears up its own proverbial.
LM rules still allow a broad area of freedom, yet still give good value for enthusiasts.
F1 needs intake restrictors, miniscule wings(if any at all), and slicks. Then the real men will come to the fore.
And the world of motorsport will be all the better for it.

Slightly off topic, but did anyone else watch the aerobatic air racing last night (late channel 5?) think it was held at Longleate (sp?)
That was seriously impressive. carbon fibre+steel spaceframe stunt planes diving at 200+ miles per hour to about 20ft pulling horizontal and then
whipping 90 degrees to get through pylons barely wider than their wings.
Decent camera work as well.

I like the LeMans rules. You can use whatever engine you want, it just has to breathe through the same size hole as the other cars in your class. This
