Automatic transmission fluid
I need to top up the power steering fluid.
The manual states that it needs Dexron II D but the sticker on the resevoir says Dexron II E.
Is it OK to mix II D and II E type fluids or do I need to drain and refill the system.
ps The fluid already in is red if this helps.

You can mix most ATF oils Ok,even Dextron I and Dextron II mix fine with no problems.
Some manufacturers specify a minimum of Dextron II sometimes, but thats mainly the latest type auto boxes.
I dont think your P.S. pump will notice the difference.
Once I've finished a project why do I start another?
