Scamera barstewards on the m6

Ok, so this has been playing on my mind since the 30th, has anybody ever been done by those orange vans on the M6?

I was driving along around about 90, which i've not had calibrated, so could be anything from 70-100, and was pulling off at tebay services, so was deccelerating down the hill and pulled off around 80, just as I was coming down the hill alarm bells were ringing that there was a strange dodgy looking object on the bridge which i should probably throw out the anchors just in case for, but i was too busy finding a gap in the traffic (Funnilly enough all braking and bunching up.) to pay much attention to it.

So my question is, whats the bests I'll get a fine? I just sent my forms off to the dvla to change my addresses since i no longer live in the uk i've lied and said i live at a mates house.

There was no speed restriction, just a standard 70 limit, which is why i find it amazing the gits where there, mind you normally i drive at night where there are no vans, less muppets, and its all bit cheaper.

Outside that one site on the M4, I didnt realise the vans were allowed to watch over the motorways, evidently that one slipped over my head sometime.

Grumble.

Wondering if i can get out of it by sending the paperwork to holland or something.

I think you would be unlucky to get a ticket if all the other cars around you were quite close, this can give confusing signals from other cars.
Ask to see the results if you do get done and state you were inclose proximity to other vehicles, although the photo should clear this anyway.
Been in this situation a few times myself, last week in Huddersfield I was lucky to be tucked tight behind a van when doing about 35(GPS speed) in a 30,my laser detector never bleeped from my Roadangel either.
You have enough on nowadays watching other traffic and staying safe without watching for the camera vans.
If I was travelling at a silly speed then I would expect a fine, but when people are driving a couple of mph over I think its petty and actually sometimes can be dangerous.

Once I've finished a project why do I start another?

if they send paperwork to your mates address, get him to say he's never heard of you. I allegedly might have possibly ducked one a few years back by moving house.

The M6 through Cumbria is one to watch out for. They don't park the Scamera vans on the motorway itself, but on bridges over the motorway. I've come flying round a bend to see a transit with it's side door open parked on a bridge before.

However they do publish the schedule on the internet schedule for the week along with all the sites sites

Check if Tebay services is on that list and if not, it could have been a VOSA / DVLA van looking for tax discs uning ANPR.
