New car

I'm looking around for a new tin top - probably diesel Vectra or Mondeo.

These people have the best prices i have seen - anybody got any experience of them. (or does anybody know a company that can beat their prices)

Try a car supermarket...they usually specialize in nearly new cars with low mileage...some real bargains to be had.

Go Mondeo - the Vectra's gremlins are by no means erradicated.

Got to be a Vectra. I have the 3.2GSi but the diesels are excellent. Check out http://www.forum.vectra-c.com/ - a number of the guys on there running the 1.9 CDTi with tuning boxes on and pushing out nearly 200bhp.

Thanks for the replies

Looks like its 2 to one for the Mondeo - must say i was going towards the Vectra though - having put in a couple of thousand miles in each by borrowing them from the pool at work there isn't a lot to choose for me.

Just wan't something new/fairly new that will eat up motorway miles in comfort and high MPG

I used to be a big fan of Vauxhalls, until i bought my Vectra.....never again

Its the base model 1.8LS, the problems i have had are unbelievable. I also have an old Astra 1.7D with 170,000 miles and it causes me less hassle.

I dont have experience of the Ford, but surely it cannot be any worse.

Just my personal experience.

BTW My sister bought the Vectra diesel (against my advice) and she is delighted with it, no problems. Maybe i just got a bad example

I personally wouldnt buy from motorpoint.

We bought my missus Fiat Stylo from them and I said the tyres need replacing as they were bald on the outside edge to the center.
The salesman said they would do that anyway as we saw it in pre-prep'ed condition.
went to pick it up and it hadnt evan been washed, however at the time i took one look at the tyres and thought they had been replaced.
About a month later when i got and had the steering on full lock, i noticed that they had just been turned over on the rims and had a bit of back to black sprayed on them.
So i rung them up to complain and talked to the sales man who sadi he had no recollection of agreeing to change the tyres and they wouldnt offer to change them.
how cheap is that!

Trading standards said they couldnt evan help
