The 'I'm building something different to everyone else' Club

Who fancies joining me in starting a club for all us nutcases using something different from the norm in our cars or doing things differently somehow?

There must be loads of us buggers about...

Me & Gusterwotsit for a start....

how about
"section for non conformist nutters that will take ages to get it finished'

or wont that fit?

As I was putting 15 sheets of mdf in my new shed to start making molds from I wondered if it somewhere got complicated!

anyway, its 70% there - the next 30% is all up hill I recon!

A title that doesn't fit is surely an apt title for such a group as much blood sweat and tears could then be spent making it fit rather than just getting on and fitting the same sort of title as every one else - Great idea in my opinion.

If the front suspension for my Safrane is going to be as much as I've heard (£1000 !!!!!), I'd have a 3.0 v6 doing nothing in the drive. Would that qualify me? Or perhaps that would just put me in "Twat you'll never do it" group.

Just the kind of person we're after.

Scrap the car, use the engine...

Should be nice.

Go on, you know you want to.

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

I'm trying to fit more gubbins in my chassis than there appears to be sufficient volume for. Can you make a tardis-builders sub-section in your club please??

Dunno about that, but look out for the website coming very soon.

Talking of which, any nutters like myself, Liam, Gusterthingy and anyone else varying the Locost theme could you please e-mail any pictures of the differences to your car to hippy@locostbuilders.co.uk for addition to the upcoming site.

Liam, have you got any pics of the 4x4 gear or the Honda?

Thanks in advance.

Rich.

It's too early in the morning...

I read that as "I'm trying to fit more gibbons in my chassis...".

I'm glad it's Friday!

Heh hee

Funny you should say that because I actually considered gibbon power first of all. The idea was kind of a hamster wheel arrangement, but with a low oval wheel to fit in the engine bay. A bit like a tank track but with gibbons inside. Scrapped the idea when I worked out how many bananas I'd have to carry for a long trip - and I really hate bananas! I'd love to see the look on the SVA man's face!

Stop monkeying around Liam - their fingernails or fangs could scratch an intrigued passer by or pedestrian, so a blatant SVA fail.

I think your probably wrong there. I believe, if I have understood correctly, that any SVA inspector would actually prefer emissions from Cats. Gibbon poo can't be worse than cat poo, surely?

Gibbon power would certainly qualify for mention on the site...

Any reference photos of gibbons welcome.

By the way Dave, that joke was terrible...

Alan,

You must be the out-and-out winner of the "own website plugger of the year" award! Every time someone talks about doing something different from normal, a "look what I'm doing" message appears!

Don't worry, I'm not complaining - I haven't the time or resources to do what you're doing.

Keep up the good work!

rgds,

David

Oh you noticed then..

Just trying to gather feedback for a soon to be commercial venture (hopefully)

Resources?....Not much here I'm afraid....decent shop, maybe, but I'm spending very little on the build (so far)

Time?....a couple of hours per evening average and maybe 10 hours per weekend....total around 20 hours per week...is that a lot?...maybe worth a thread or a poll?
