*NEW* Carbon fibre Resin Number plates

Please view my Photo archive and look under the carbon f/ number plate folder and see what you think?

Ive made some of these over the last few days.

Basically its a standard size N/plate with Carbon fibre lettering and then Ive resined the letters so they properly stick out the resin is clear and makes the plate look fantastic I think!

I shall be selling them soon and can also put a resined logo on the left hand side.

Price will be around the 35 pounds mark for a set.

They will be sold as show plates but I cant see any probs with them.

thanks

chris

They look pretty cool, and with a set of standard plates coming in at a hefty 20 quid from halfrauds, not bad value either.

Theres probably some crap requirement that makes them illegal for road use, but good for shows, or people who arent afraid to bend the rules a little.

tbh, theres probably something wrong with every damn car on the road if every letter of the law were followed exactly.

They look the mutts!!

Is there a way you can check to see if they are legal like sending a pair to the DVLA or minestry of transport or wherever?

I think all numberplate makers have to be registered with the DVLA now...

Hence all the nonsense about proving your identity, car paperwork, inside-leg measurement, etc every time you get a new plate. (joking - I understand why they're so keen for people to prove who they are before selling them plates - just I don't think it'll bother the villains)

A minor word of caution... You must be registered with the DVLA if you make number plates for use on the public highway. You may be opening yourself up to prosecution........

Damn - Dave beat me to it!

I was told 2 days ago that all plates have to be "camera readable", and that in the near future, having illegal plates will be an endorsable offence. Not sure how true that is though. The plates look good, and I think that the proof of ownership laws only apply to England & Wales.

I know everyone is trying to be helpful but There not for road use anyway

I just personally dont think there would be a problem with them if they were put on a car its not as if there trying to spell something different and there all the right sizes etc

all IMHO ofcourse

I read somewhere that the registration for making plates is a £40 one off payment to VOSA or the DVLA. It was pinned up in a shop that sells plates so it's not that bad if you wanted to be legit.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Booootiful and a great price considering each one is custom made.
I will probably have a set but might need a 80% sized version due to having a small plate mounting area - is that possible?

Cheers,
