Pug HDi

Anyone know the differenc between the Pug/Citroen 1.9 Hdi 90 and 110 bhp engines?
My dad's just bought a 90 in a 406, is it as simple as a chip swap?

John, I agree - afaik the hdi is 2ltr, the 1.9 is the older mech pump which can be tweaked aswell to get 15hp more on a standard car..

How the diffferance is made between a 90 and a 110 I don't know. But in my own personal experance all the PSA HDi engines are common rail. From the old TU based 1.4 HDi (Pug 206)upwards.No mechanical INJECTION pumps. The presure is built in some cases on mechanical pumps but the fuel is let into the cylinders/inlet on solinoids/injectors..In the 307's it looks like a TE engine of old with a sightly different head and all the electronic jiggery pokey clagged on.Hope this helps.

..Which was nice..
