Switching Broadband

Hi,

If I want to switch my broadband supplier from cable to ADSL, I realise that you have to have a BT line, but do you have to have an active account with BT, or will just an inactive line and socket in place do?

Thanks,

Pat.

Before you order adsl you must have an active BT line, they wont let you signup until after the BT activation date

There's a double negative in there, does that mean you would go with Orange?

Cheers

I'm with Orange - have been since their Freeserve dialup days. Always been very stable, reasonable connection speed - can't see the problem.

The Mrs organised for us to sign up with Talk Talk, the new Carphone Warehouse thing. Very reasonable prices along with free anytime broadband use. Very nice people never had any problems with them.

DIY SI - Have you got an active BT line?

I am on NTL at the mo and have a redundant BT.

Thinking about going ADSL with SKY, TALK TALK or BT.

Cheers,

Pat...

If you are with orange or moving to orange be aware that they want to take over your local loop

( the wire that connects you to the exchange ) this is ware the problems start.

have a friend who has been waiting for six weeks to get reconected after a '1.5 hour upgrade'. while assisting him came accross this.orange problems.
