Fiesta 1.1 Hot Starting Problems

My son has just bought a 1995 Ford Fiesta 1.1 with a single point fuel injection system to learn to drive in. The car starts and runs fine most of the time. However, If you have been on a long run, say over an hour, it will refuse to start. If you let it cool down (after around 20 mins) it starts and runs fine again.

I phoned the local main Ford dealership, they tell me this is a known fault and that they have never been able to cure it!! All he could suggest is that we put some fuel line cleaner in the tank. I have given it a full service.

Has anyone out there come across this problem before this and found a fix for it??

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can give me any help. It is such a pain, especially when your'e learning to drive.

Cheers,

Rick
