So do we know why they won't let it on the programme yet?

nope, all they've done since Plans Motorsport released the vids is threaten lots of legal action.
They told my mate to remove the videos within two days or they would be sued for various things, which when his solicitors checked it all out, just
required some careful rewording of the titles.
"I think" they also put the frighteners on the circuit landowner, as he contacted Plans and Ultima very concerned!!!
All been dropped now though, so we will have to wait and see!!

I suspect that the reason that don't invite Ultima to destroy the so called supercars, is that if they do, then Clarkson and co. won't get
invitations for anymore free jollies by the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Konigsegegegegeg etc.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

Did it get over their speedbump? That's always been JC's excuse in the past. Either that or it's because the Stig wasn't
driving so not a true benchmark - maybe Stiggy is just crap at driving after all

I hope this is taken the right way, as I'm sure he really was going flat out, but I thought that until he went "through the tyres"
(1.28 on vid) he could of probably pushed a tiny bit harder to get a better time???
I know it's silly saying that, as the rest of the lap could of been ultra quick, and like on Top Gear for real, the timing guys would of just
given them the best time of the day (or morning/afternoon!).
I really have changed my mind about the car in the past year! Since being on the kit car scene (before I had walked round them several times) I just
thought they were sort of an indulgance, a "more show than go", but after seeing one, looking round one, looking at builds, hearing one
and then to top it all off seeing it go round that track - I think that it is one of the most awesome pieces of kit in the automotive world and I will
have one one day...

That video is so much better than the last one.
At around 55-57 seconds at the tyres after the follow through it is visibly quicker than anything. That was more like a competition run at a sprint
than a top gear hot lap.
Fabulous and a great engine note.

The Stig must know the track so well these days I would guess he should be even faster than Ultima's pilot. Perhaps the Stig doesn't want
to drive the Ultima in case he can't match the time!

i guess they wont use an ultima because its a kit car really. non of the others on the board are available as a kit (as far i know). Theres not really
a stock ultima to test either really because there all built to the buyers spec arnt they so it wouldnt be fair.

Yep it's fair enough, A formula one is probably also faster.
So Ultima should start production-cars!

I'm prepared to bet Ultima have sold more complete turnkey cars than Koenigsegg over the last few years.

on Clarksons new DVD he says he does not like reviewing cars that are family owned as a bad review could destroy the family business
Saying that this was just before he drove the Ascari which is family owned !!!
Call me a sceptic but Ascari allowed him to use their own track for the DVD so this could explain how they made it onto the DVD plus TG last week
All Ultima have to do is either bribe TG or add £200,000 to the price of the car

Firstly, that WAS one of the several stigs (there isn't "one" there are a number of them) driving, and he is a GT driver that I have
forgotten the name of (genuinely, mate did say not to tell anybody, and I have forgotten anyway now!! ) My mate and his dad did discuss driving,
especially as his dad has held lap records on most tracks in the UK, but they decided it was best to let somebody who knows the track inside out do
the driving.
Re. the "production car" title....
Ariel Atom - limited volume approval only
Ultima - limited volume approval only.............
Ariel is on the board!
Also wouldn't surprise me if more turnkey ultimas had been sold than koenigseggs

retro car restoration and tuning

I have to wonder why they haven't done something like this years ago. In the past it has always been about straight line performance and any
suggestion of going for track records has always been ignored.
If this is a genuine lap time then it boosts Ultima's credibility in my eyes, as the design is rather dated and a lot of people doubt that it
would go round corners that well. Just think what they could achieve with a makeover (long overdue imo)
Cheers,
Raz

Plenty of youtube vids, this one gives a good idea of the track layout which top gear and the other youtube entries do not.
ultima link
As for the ultima on top gear, top gear have never as far as i can remember played with any kind of kit car other than the atom and caterham. The
caterham though was tested bt VBH so read into that what you like.

can't see that being the reason - surely that would be the driving force for the supercar manufacturers to up their cars performance resulting
in more invites?
