I've been for 2 weeks in a village north of Bodrun called Yalikavak. Very friendly people, weather was 10/10 the whole time. Drivers are total
nutters though I'd recommend it

I've been twice. Last time we had a private villa up in the mountains overlooking Marmaris. The food, weather and people were awesome. As said,
watch out for the roads! I saw a minibus overtake a car on the outside of an unguarded mountain hairpin! We hired a little samurai for a week - we got
through two as the were utter shite, but great fun bouncing along the dusty mountain roads!

Don't eat anything that isn't cooked and may have been washed in tap water.
I did, took me about 6 weeks to get over it. Not pleasant.
But, its a fantastic country, lots of history, and lots to see and do. Plus you can bring back loads of cheap fake clobber.

Not for me either I'm afraid.
Went for a day trip to marmarisk and felt that most of the shopkeepers etc were VERY pushy. Also no prices on their merchandise meant they could check
you out and work out how much you could afford.
Seems a shame cause my father says Kushadasi was a great place for a holiday but first impressions and all that stuff have put me off.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

went there about 15 yrs ago - small village - gulmdere (sp?) near kusadassi (sp?) which when we drove thru; it was Spain gone mad - just a huge
building site - not nice.
no complaints at all, lots to see - historic stuff like effesus (sp?) and the fossilised waterfalls at pamukale (sp?).
Like all of arabic/african countuires, you get brats trying to sell you vitally useful stuff like guitars made from tortoise shells, a must have, so
start haggling by INCREASING the price and keep on doing it - this is something unexpected and does not compute so they will leave you alone.
but whatever you do, don't follow the man to his brother's carpet shop and hang on to your wallet when receiveing sexual favours from the
prozzies!

My experience a bit like Roadrunners, went once, and never, ever again. Cheers Ray

Just dont stay on a super tourist area! If you do and walk around in swimming shorts with a bright pink back, then you will get fleeced by the shop
keepers. Venture out a little and its a different place all together.
