LGV Class 1

Well I am off to start training on the big stuff - first lesson in an articulated lorry starts in 40mins.

To all those in the Wirral / Chester area - beware of the big yellow and blue truck!!! Test is next Wednesday so pretty intensive and will hopefully start a new job very soon after that. Beats sitting in an office anyway hey!!

Later
Paul

Good luck mate. If you master that reverse parking I can guarantee you'll pass just from the confidence you'll exude. I nearly shoved the trailer through the wall at Kirkham Prison on the first go. The examiner was a one armed fella who had to drop his folder to throw his arm up and scream

Oh aye, and it might sound cheesy but I watched all 3 Smokey and the Bandits several times throughout my week of lessons and was constantly humming the tune. It just got me in the mood and stuff. Was great. "We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.....watch old Bandit run yee haa!!"

When I was a lad

I used to shunt and sheet trailers before these fancy Tautliners came in. Long trailers are a doddle to reverse, the 28 footers we used to use for short drops were b@studs to control though

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Thanks all. Well that was fun - driving around town centres with 18m of wagon!!! I have a really tall wagon too so it cuts the available test routes down due to all the low bridges and so on around the North East Wales area where i'm taking the test next week - pretty much keeps me out of Wrexham town centre anyway which is good!!!

Do reversing tomorrow - looking forward to that!!

Off to the pub with Richard Quinn off here soon. No excuse - we're just going!!

Now i've not done it before, but I think you'd stand more chance looking backwards! or at least in your mirrors!

Martin.

PS, was hoping to come over this weekend but it keeps looking less likely.
