R1 carbs peeing me off now!!!

As title

Had the carbs all cleaned and set up rolling roaded at Bogg bros all ok

Parked the car in the garage for a week due to bad weather,Sunday came thought i would take it for a blast.
Turned the key running on 3 cylinders,took it down the road poping and farting.
Took the air filter of and no 2 carb is spitting petrol out of a hole as you look down into the carbs and the fuel is running staight down into the engine.
Exhaust header cold on that cylinder.

Took the float bowl off tonight nice and clean,took the jets out clean and clear.
Float moving as it should stopping petrol flow etc.

Now i am stumped,am i missing something here?

Running the R1 fuel pump so preasure isnt the problem

An ideas???????

ime no bike guru but if your using carbs, they will depend on a vacuum in the cylinder in order to mix fuel/air, i would do a compression test on that cylinder first of all

Steven aka Snap-off has had a sh*t load of problems with his R1 and running. Give him a bell as he might be able to help you.

If it was a cylinder down i would have thought it would have shown up on the rollers and never run right during the RR test.
Since it was run on the RR it was trailered back and parked in the garage so had no use.

I had this with my bird engine and it's carbs. It turned out to be a couple of sticky/old float valves. I just went down to my local bike place and ordered some. 10 minutes to fit and it's been fine for 8 months now.

so she was running on all cylinders?, then youve had a rr session, trailered her home and you now have this fault? ide still do a comp test....very easy to do and saves any guessing, is it poss to interchange a couple of carbs somehow?
sorry i am not fimilar with the set up on r1

that sounds like theres no firing at all on that cylinder... meaning its most probably not the carb, but the plug or leads?

There is a good spark at all the cylinders and new plugs fitted.

Taken the carbs back off today,i will have a ride back to Bogg bros and get one of the lads to have a look.

Well here is the update.

Took the carbs to Bogg bros and Steve stripped the carbs down and we found nothing!!.
Took everything apart and put it all back together and rigged a fuel pump up on the bench and tried them,result everything seamed ok,very strange!!!

Brought them back fitted to the car and now runs ok,in the garage anyway as it to wet to take it out.

It ticksover perfect rev's no problem and it is now running on all cylinders

Very odd but seams to be cured

That's basically what I had. The floats and valves all looked fine, but 2 weren't fully seating and leaking fuel into the engine.

I think you may be right there

We di d have a look at the float tabs and seamed ok.

Bit of a silly idea on those carbs,i cannot understand why the tabs that work the needles are a seperate piece of tin and not part of the molding on the floats.

Then there is a problem with the pump.. maybe its a faulty earth connection or something that might explain why the engine didnt work after transporting it back home... maybe something came loose while transport...looks pretty much like its the pump or the pump connections.
