Hi
I'm just finishing off my exhaust system.
I intend to wrap the headers down to the collector.
Anyone an idea how much wrap I need?
Looking on fleebay it comes in rolls of between 33ft and 100ft.
I would sooner buy too much than too little. But I dont want to waste money buying tooooooo much
Cheers David
Havn't done it myself but I was advised to use the 2" stuff not the 1" stuff and to allow 3x the length of pipe.
Allegedly there are disadvantages as well as advantages
how long is a piece of string, or exhasut wrap?
how many cylinders you have?
what diameter are the pipes?
how long are the pipes?
what sort of overlap you aiming for?
find an old bed sheet, dress, curtain etc. and cut it into a 50 mm wide strip and see how far 1 m covers.
measure length of pipes you want to cover in metres and multiply by the above allowing 15 % due to thickness.
job done.

I'd heard the 3x rule - but guess that applies to the 2" stuff
3x length seems to make sense
That'll do for me
Thanks guys
David
