I've decided to go for fuel injection, and junk the bike carb setup.
Have bought a set of GSXR750 bodies, removed the secondary butterflies.
Got a manifold flange and will be making up my on manifold.
Which injectors do people use in the gsxr bodies?
Which ECU should I go for, Emerald, megasquirt etc.....
Bit of a novice with DIY injection, so any help much appreciated.
1.8 blacktop zetec, with 130ps cams.
Thanks.
Pete.

what problem ar you having with the carb set up ??.
Brother in law has injection and is using throttle bodoes on a 2 litre zetec protuces 165bhp using the emmerald ECU and set up by Dave Walker not
cheap. I think more people are going for megasquirt there appear to be a lot of maps available.
Loads of people have had success with Megasquirt but I ended up fitting an Emerald ECU . I think if you are OK with electronics and spend a great deal of time studying then Megasquirt would be OK . If you are like me them a ready made ECU may be a better bet. The Emerald is very straight forward to fit with clear and easy to read instructions , comes with a map that should at least get you running , easy to make alterations to map and good back up from Dave Walker. I managed to get pretty close with the fueling using the built in gas anyliser after fitting a lambda boss and a narrow band sensor . Dave Walkers book on engine management is well worth a read and comes with a programme to play with which makes setting up a lot easier . Car is far better than it was on carbs.
sorry forgot to mention the brother in law is using the bicke carb as the throttle body, he has secured the damper to ensure only the butterfly is operational
Thanks guys, its not that I'm having problems really, its more the old case of upgrading before I've finished. The bike carb setup is
really neat in fact, boggs and zzr1100......
I'm ok with electronics, mainly old guitar amp circuits, but, pcb and soldering iron hold no fears.
Hi Pete,
LocostBuilders » Forum » Engine & Transmission » Blue Injectors?
Look at my thread there is Stevebubs, i believe he has a set of GSXR750 TB's on a Zetec, just take a look in his archive for a few pictures.
Good Luck.
The original injectors work fine, mine is a 2 litre running on gsxr 600 bodys and megasquirt.
If you are prepared to do a lot of reading up and spend time tuning etc then megasquirt is a good choice, if not then go for emerald or similiar that
is easier to get tuned by most rolling roads.
Paul.
any recommendations for Bike carbs then as Im running twin 40's on a 1.8 zetec
i would use the management, that the person mapping it is best with, as its only as good as its told to be! i run mine on omex 600
The advantage of Emerald is that you can hook it up to a LC1 wideband lambda and it's self teaching.... Okay you can fiddle a few sites for optimum power later on but you'll get well into the ball park with a Emerald ECU and a LC1....
Another vote for Emerald. I went to Emerald to get my injectors checked and was surprised by the place, a real engineering workshop, very helpful and friendly. Suspect their success is due more to experience and knowledge rather than the b*llsh*t some tuning companys churn out.

Can't a Megasquirt do this then?
Stu
I also respaced mine but fabricated a fuel rail from some turned bosses to fit the injectors silver soldered to some 10mm bore steel tube.

Agreed. However I respaced mine to DCOE spacing so a Jenvey fuel rail and standard car injectors bolted straight up with the help of some flat bar.
