Bike Carbs and Cold Start

Anyone using CVK carbs, have you got the cold start device working?

To start mine, in the last few sub zero weeks, Cold start on but as soon as the engine fires (usually immediately) cold start needs to be shut off and keep the motor running on the throttle.

Leads me to think the idle is still a bit rich, what do other CVK users think?

Mine will start without the choke, but starts and runs easier with it.

I tend to leave the choke on for a couple of mins - the car will run for much longer with the choke on though, so your idle mixture could be a bit rich.

Mine are set up by Boggs and im confident they are correct (ZZR1100's on 2.0 pinto). Wont quite start without cold start. I just flip bonnet off, push it by hand, fire up the car and within 5 - 10 secs its running without it. Once started it will restart at anytime that day (unless very cold and nasty).

I use a smidge of choke for the first few seconds (and to start) then keep the idle speed up for the first minute or so with a bit of right-foot pressure....

.... then again when it's this cold I keep the car wrapped up in the garage (especially when some of the Lobro bolts have come loose and I've been too lazy to take them out, degrease and threadlock them!!!!)....
