Anyone have any advice on correct diff for a zx14 or busa engine in 7 type cars? There seems to be so many people with these vehicles and diff ratios seem to vary quite a lot! Thanks guys.
3.14 if you can find one. 3.38 is a good compromise.
Thanks. The 3.14 seems hard to find and expensive but i will keep a look out for one! Thanks again
You'll have difficulty getting hold of a 3.14, they're like rocking horse sh1t. A 3.38 diff will be good and are much more common. Usually
found in 2.3D Sierras.

thanks phil.Is there not a freelander diff with similar ratio?
Freelander Diff is 3.21
Freelander diffs are 3.21 and non-LSD.
Phil
BMW have 100's of ratios, the only probs may be joining bmw diff and Sierra shafts and weight, but price shouldn't come into it.

Would that not be a resonable alternative or are they very expensive too? The freelander i mean!

freelander diff seems to be the choice for ZX10R's and can be had for around £100, however if you use sierra hubs you will need custom driveshafts. Mine were supplied by Mac1motorsports.
You will also have to alter the mountings for the Freelander diff as they are different to the Sierra so get your welder out.
Hi. I have been trying to change my diff for some time. At present I have a blade engine and a 3.9 diff which is completely wrong for me. I've been looking for a 3.14 but as hellfire says they are like hens teeth. I've also been unsuccessful in sourcing a 3.38. I have found a company who can reratio my current diff. They have said that the 3.14 has started to be remanufactured but would cost around £400 + rebuild costs. They have said that a decent 3.38 should be around £150 + rebuild costs so think I'm going down that route (Unless of course someone wants to buy a 3.9 and someone has a 3.38 to sell!!!)

Depending on the condition of the bearings etc. around £150. It's been sent away so once they give me a complete quote I will post on here.
Thanks ASL,
As an aside did you go to Bruntingthorpe in 2008 to one of the MK trackdays? If you did I think I met you there.
Cheers
Craig
