Installing Rod bolts

Bit of a school boy question but having never done a re-build before i thought i would ask if its a simple case of winding them down and torquing them up, or do they need oiling or anything like that?

Do you mean con rod bolts? If so I think they are supposed to be dry. If you oil the threads then they could end up being overtorqued which would cause them to be stretched and more prone to failure.

I hope that's the answer you were looking for

If you are using ARP then they recommend their lubricant and tighten to a certain stretch. However they also give a routine to torque and release three times before a final torque. Check with the bolt manufacturers?
