confession time (torx bolts)
tomgregory2000 - 17/1/09 at 12:35 PM

Further to my rounded torx bolts, i have to confess that i was using the wrong size torx bit, i was using a T40 and when i used the T45 it worked fine.
Moral of the story is dont have a couple of beers before working on the car and make sure you have the correct size tool.
I feel silly but had to confess and thanks for the replys on the other thread

I would've still used the grinder to teach them a lesson for being the wrong size for your bit.

It's a common mistake with Torx bolts, I've seen one size too small used a lot (& indeed done it myself!). They fit far better than one size to big a spanner would on a conventional bolt.

Yeah i think that the main thing isnt it.
- When a torq fits well, it fits bloody well. If it doesnt, something not right.

Hard to do than say non the less, partiualurly if approching slightly at an angle.
