Does anyone know how to identify what year engine it is by looking at the engine number?

I'm hopefully buying a 2004 busa engine but wanted to check the year. How do i find out?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Normally the first 4 digits defines the year and model of engine with suzuki, ring customer services and they will be able to tell you
