As title I am in the process of convertin my ford 2.8 v6 with a T Technics conversion.
been to their website and it lists the 2.8 v6 (capri, sierra etc) as having a TT076 turbo code.
The kit i have is actually a TT086-so my question is does anyone know if this is suitable for my engine?.... OR what engine this one is from?
cheers colin
i'm afraid i cant help with the codes but i had a 2.8 XR4x4 TT conversion many years ago. I know the slightly later model with a 2.9 engine had
a different system and made more power so it maybe that you have a kit from a 2.9.
It should fit though but may need slight modification to manifolds and cross over pipe.
IIRC it runs one turbo on one side of the V6 but has a link pipe from the other bank, a bit crude but worked ok.
If its a slightly bigger turbo it wont do it any harm, mine had no lag and bundles of torque so a slightly bigger turbo may give you a little more top
end.
Hi
yea i have all the other kit to go with it and have already manufactured and fitted the link pipe and manifold.
I just want to be sure before i send the turbo off to be reconditioned that its ok to fit, It should be a T3 but it does not say it anywhere on the
turbo at all!
A friend bought a TT kit for his capri 2.8i a while ago, he's not fitted it but I could probably ask for any info if needed.
Also my new project (Tvr s) has the same 2.8 engine the manifolds are different. Once she's on the road I'd like to turbo or supercharge
her. Any details you find out about the content of the kit (e.g what I need to look for on ebay), cost and mods to the K-jet system would be really
useful.
Cheers
Mike

I read a book on turbocharging a while back and it mentioned Turbo Technics kits.
Seem to recall they made kits for the XR4x4 in low, medium and high power (450 HP) versions.
Best bet would be an email to Turbo Technics.
MIKEB check out the turbo technics website they have have manufactured the kits again for the capris etc, there is also a 12 page pdf document all
about the conversiuon kits for this engine!
complete kit apart from the link pipe (which you can make anyway) is £2500 plus the dreaded
Been to enginetuner in Plymouth tonight (TT local dealer) and he checked all his info he has and he does not know what the TT086 came off originallly!
so im no better off, but i have sent it off to TT for reconditioning know-look forward to my new horses!!!!!
cheers colin
In case any one is interested I have found out my turbo was fitted to the 250hp sierra estate versions, so if alls well when mine is completed it should perform very well indeed!!
Nice,
£2500 is a bit steep for me, kind of worth more than the car.
Couldn't find any info on the TT site so will have another look.
Was hoping to uncover a ebay bargain at some point!
