Tried to run my TR6 engine up to temperature tonight.... But I was a little bit worried so I gave up and went down the pub...
On the pinto... whilst the thermostat is closed, some water bypasses the stat and flows back into the top of the header tank...
There is a pipe on the TVR that looks as if it should do just that..
But there is no water comming out of it back into the header...
Is it normal for there to be no water on some engines?
And if there should be water, what checks can I perform to make sure that everyhting is behaving itself..?
ISTR on Triumph engines the water pump and thermostat are mounted on the same casting the by-pass is internal to the casting.
Sadly thats not the case..
The water pump is on the front of the engine near the middle and the stat is in sepperate housing on the top of the block at the front...
