Got my zetec engine, zx6r g2 carbs, manifold, carbs rubbers, matched fuel pump and relay. Just starting to get my head round fitting it place of a 1.8 cvh. Just got a few queries please:
1. do the carbs need rejetting to run with the zetec engine,
2. what have people done with the cooling outlet on the flywheel end of the block, at the moment my bulkhead will be in the way. Do you need the two smaller outlets on the manifold
3. its going to be run with a megajolt kit, where is best to get the zetec kit from, i've heard there may be people on the site selling them
4. i don't have the alternator so will the cvh one be okay with a new mounting made

2. a water rail may fix this problem

4. Yes but you'll need a new 6 rib pulley

1- Id put them on as they are then get it rolling roaded to see what you need where. Ie Main jets for flat wide open throttle and needles for mid range. You may find Off the bike is near enough.

2- Do you mean the thermostac housing? Is so search for zetec cooling on here and youl find various diagrams of how people have done it.

3- Theyr getting expensive. Iv seen them on ebay for 180 quid. Id put a wanted on ad here.

4 - You may find the CVH one will be too big. Iv got a diahatsu charade one which is quite small. Again search for zetec alternater and youl get various idea's.

I have 1.8 silvertop zetec with zx9rb carbs and its got standard fixed needles and 155 main jets. Air screws are 3 turns out as recommended by Bogg bros.

You wont need the relay for the fuel pump which will make the wiring a bit easier On the bike thats used when they fall off so the pump stops.

Just to add, if you're gonna be messing about with alternator pulleys and mounts, you might as well source a smaller (lighter) one from a scrappers.
These cars only need a small alternator anyway

Thanks all for the respones, very helpful site (moreso than Haynes ). Want to get as much done before swap as poss so car is of road least possible for this nice weather coming..

You may need the engine in before you do the alternater so you know what supports you need it to miss.
