hi are they any good? what are the gains from using one? cheers ben
allows you to alter cam timing
so do you gain more horsies?
If your cam timing is about by a small amount - then yes. Best to fit it and then let the rolling road fine tune the timing. If your cam timing is
spot on currently then it wont make any difference.
Overall i'd say they are worthwhile if you have a fancy cam in there. They do look very bling dont they!!
i've just been out to the garage to take a photo for you, you can see in the top left of the pulley (as you look at it) that you can adjust it to
the closest degree for precision timing

If you have a std cam its not worth it. If its non std then its worth the investment as it allows you to get the timing spot on.
David
yeh looks smart so you would opt for 1, im going to run it on bike carbs so will it help the whole balance of the engine?
AS Mr Flak Monkey says - they are only any good if you are fitting a hot cam which needs timing which is different from the standard.
It makes no difference to the standard cam worth mentioning.
here is my engine running R1 Throttle Bodies with fast road cam and Megasquirt.

is it the weight of the block that is the main source of extra baggage on the pinto, my fltwheel only weighs 3.8kgs and i have ali add ons of everything instead of cast steal, ali bell housing as well so i reckon that my pinto would be considerably lighter than most.

That rocker cover will add weight over the normal one too, itll be heavier than the
pressed steel one
so i reckon that my car is just as light as a zetec car, im only 9st 7lbs, so some of you fat buggers out there are probably heavier!
i feel a
petition coming on, boycot the zetec boys!
